Job Description
- Prepare fire protection design drawings for commercial, institutional and industrial buildings in compliance with applicable codes for submittal & fabrication.
- Prepare hydraulic calculations and project submittal drawings.
- Conduct site surveys and attend coordination meetings.
- Generate cut lists for fabrication and material list for operations.
- Generate permit and shop drawings.
- Maintain project drawings files, drawing library and associated records.
- Perform minor project management duties to include attending job meetings, writing change orders, RFI's and other job related correspondences.
- Perform other related duties as necessary.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years experience with fire sprinkler design.
- AutoCad required and HydroCad preferred.
- Field experience in sprinkler repair a plus.
- Knowledge in design of FM-200 and other pre-engineered fire systems a plus.
- Knowledge of all types of sprinkler systems to include wet, dry, deluge and pre-action systems.
- Valid New Jersey Driver's license.
- Knowledge of NFPA standards a plus.
- Current NICET certification in fire sprinkler design a plus. Applicant will be required to obtain certification with 1st year of employment.
- Good written and verbal skills.
- Computer knowledge a must, especially Microsoft Office applications.
- Must be able to pass drug screening tests.
- A minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent.
